Zoë Kissel from Sidewatcher testing out a new addition to Broken Jaw Studios' collection, The Stylophone. We were able to have some quick fun with the green screen too!
This was just an impromptu performance. Zoe messed around with the Stylophone for a few minutes and then just started playing this tune. We turned the lights on the green screen and captured her performance (it took a couple takes).
"The Stylophone is a miniature analog stylus-operated keyboard. Invented in 1967 by Brian Jarvis, it entered production in 1968, manufactured by Dubreq. It consists of a metal keyboard played by touching it with a stylus—each note being connected to a voltage-controlled oscillator via a different-value resistor—thus closing a circuit. The only other controls were a power switch and a vibrato control on the front panel beside the keyboard, and a tuning control on the rear. Some three million Stylophones were sold, mostly as children's toys."

You only talk when words are spoken to your face You only run in circles when you’re staying at my place You only know how people lead you as you walk down the street And I start to believe you how you’re there but never at my feet
Silhouettes and lonely shadows hanging ‘round my neck Dark nights and starry eyes, was I only ever a bet Coffee rings and subtle things, memories of your life No one ever really knew how you had loved your first wife
The lines on the wall are nails scratching at my fate Little numbers track the days and track the ways of your escape Did I sign a letter, did I pen away the time You only told me when I tied the rope that we’d be just fine

The Riverview rowing program is out to make history at the Hebda Memorial Cup Challenge Saturday – for the second straight year.
Last season the Bucs swept the girls’ title, the boys’ title and the overall title – the first program ever to do that.
Saturday, they’d like to repeat the feat.
“It was a pretty big deal for the kids,” said Riverview Coach Rich Kesor. “They have been pushing themselves in workouts since the beginning of January with the goal of repeating the feat motivating them. Hopefully, we can pull it off.”
It won’t be easy as the Bucs will be facing stiff competition from 11 other teams at the event, including teams from Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The complete field is Roosevelt, Riverview, Anderson, Grosse Ile, Carlson, Dearborn Heights Crestwood, Saline, Cranbrook, Northville, Mercyhurst Prep from Pennsylvania, and Parkersburg from West Virginia.
This will be the 49th running of the Hebda Cup. Racing begins at Waterfront Park in Wyandotte at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the finals expected to begin around 11.
Riverview prepped for Saturday’s event by winning the WBC championship last week.
The event was held over two days because of bad weather.
Riverview won the majority of the events and scored 333 points. Crestwood was second (103), Carlson was third and Anderson was fourth.
